William E. Wackowski joined the Law Offices of Jonathan F. Marshall in 2017, bringing more than 12 years of criminal law experience with him.
A native Pennsylvanian, Mr. Wackowski earned a B.S. degree in education from Temple University in 1992 and then worked as a middle-school teacher for six years before deciding that he wanted to become a lawyer. He enrolled at Rutgers School of Law, received his J.D. in 2001, and has been practicing law in New Jersey ever since.
Initially, Mr. Wackowski handled medical malpractice cases, but then turned to criminal law as a prosecutor for a number of towns, including New Brunswick, North Brunswick, East Brunswick, Piscataway, Metuchen, Edison, and Helmetta. After six years, he launched his own solo practice in Point Pleasant Beach, focusing on defending individuals charged with indictable crimes, ranging from simple drug possession to murder.
Mr. Wackowski enjoys the competitive aspect of trying cases in court and has developed a reputation for his skills in negotiating with prosecutors on behalf of his clients. “I also enjoy helping people who have found themselves in bad situations,” Mr. Wackowski says.
In his limited spare time, Mr. Wackowski is a volunteer firefighter and EMT. He also enjoys freshwater and saltwater fishing.
